 PETRA, JORDAN Back to Egypt Page For as long as I can remember, visiting the lost city of Petra has been something that was always talked about in my family and being so close to Dahab (4 hours travel by land and sea), the opportunity couldn't be passed up. Dating back to around the time of Christ, Petra is a city created by the Nabateans with many tombs carved into the rock faces, that became deserted and forgotten about for hundreds of years. Probably most well known as the setting for the final part of the film 'Indiana Jones and the Last crusade'. 
On the way back on the boat, we could see 4 countries at the same time all next to each other - from left to right: Egypt, Israel, Jordan and Saudi Arabia! Home |
